Sergei Kostitsyn once wanted to “beat the shit” out of Jean Perron
Sergei Kostitsyn and Jean Perron.

Two names that left no one indifferent several years ago. Both men were popular in their own way around town: Perron was a panelist on the sports show 110% (and former head coach of the Habs), while Sergei made headlines with the Habs for a variety of reasons… reasons that weren’t necessarily positive.

The man who won the Stanley Cup at the helm of the CH in the 1985-1986 season was on the La Poche Bleue podcast last night, and came up with several particularly interesting anecdotes.

What really turned me on…

was when he talked about the time the younger brother of the two Kostitsyns wanted to fight with him while Perron was at work, precisely for the 110% show.

At one point, Sergei Kostitsyn was on the edge of the window outside and he was hitting the window with his fist, and he said to me, ‘Come on, you, come on, I’m going to break your face! – Jean Perron

Special, same thing.

On the other hand, it doesn’t seem to surprise me that much. We remember how Sergei and Andrei Kostitsyn had characters that were a little out of the ordinary.

I find it hard to believe that Sergei understood Perron’s criticism of him at the time, since Sergei didn’t actually speak a word of French… And even his English left something to be desired.

In any case, Sergei was Sergei. Sergei was Sergei.

All in all, a fine story. It must be weird, too, to have a Montreal Canadiens player want to “beat the shit out of you”. At least, I can’t imagine Cole Caufield wanting to fight me on the subway for some reason.

Hehe.

In short

Nice. It’s the right call.

– His return to the game is approaching.

– Frederik Andersen gets the start.

– It’s fast approaching.

– Promising.
