Series wrap-up: 4 goals from Joe Pavelski (in his return), but the Stars lose
Last night saw the start of the second round on the Bettman circuit.

For the occasion, the Panthers visited the Leafs and the Kraken was in Dallas. Here are the highlights:

Joe Pavelski scores 4 goals, but the Stars lose

The Stars could count on Joe Pavelski’s return to action yesterday, after his first-round injury.

Let’s just say his return to action was a great success. And why? Because the American scored four goals, all four of them for his team.

But as I mentioned, his fine performance was spoiled by a Seattle overtime win thanks to a Yanni Gourde goal.

The Kraken now lead the series 1-0.

The next game will be played in Dallas on Thursday, starting at 9:30pm.

The Panthers are confident

After beating the Bruins in seven games, the Panthers had no easy task when they faced the Toronto Maple Leafs in the next round.

But Matthew Tkachuk’s team is full of confidence, and they kept up the momentum in game one.

A 4-2 victory.

In defeat, Matthew Knies scored his first NHL goal.

As for the Tkachuk’s older brother, he picked up an assist on his team’s first three goals. Boston hero Carter Verhaeghe scored the winning goal after the Leafs had come from behind.

Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 34 of 36 shots.

Florida leads the series 1-0, and both teams will return to action on Thursday at 7pm in Toronto.
