MURAL festival is back for another year of urban art takeover in the heart of Montreal. Running until June 19, MURAL is bringing together 29 artists from around the world and giving folks the chance to see them create murals in real life -- all with a mission to "democratize urban art".

In addition to live art, tons of musical events, seminars, outdoor exhibitions and installations are also planned. Plus an appearance from a special ice cream-loving NYC artist who we're beyond excited about.

We're talk about none other than Buff Monster who has made a real name for himself by blending elements of pop art, Japanese culture and graffiti together with ice cream cones (YES, we said ice cream cones), metal music influences and a lot -- no, seriously, a LOT -- of pink.

From Brooklyn to Italy, his works can be found on street corners and in galleries around the globe. What's more, his Melty Misfits, "the highest quality homage to Garbage Pail Kids possible", are a phenomenon in and of themselves and -- because that's not enough -- he's recently released a book titled Stay Melty. Not to mention he's also found time to collaborate with HUGE brands like Disney, Converse, Hello Kitty and Coca-Cola.

Featuring 600 photos, all taken by Buff Monster himself, Stay Melty is the culmination of three action-packed years in which the talented artist has "travelled the world, worked on a little animation for Disney, painted a ton of walls, set up my painting studio in the LES, released my first self-produced vinyl toy, and worked on a million other projects."

Buff will be signing his book as part of MURAL at Galerie Station 16 (3523 Boul. Saint-Laurent) on June 17th from 6pm - 7pm and, needless to say, you best be there!
