Grand Prix weekend is almost upon us, which can only mean one thing: It's party time in Montreal. As folks from all over the world flock to the city to experience the F1 race, rub elbows with celebrities and attend some of THE hottest parties of the year, it can be hard to keep up with what's on and which events are actually worth attending.

Which is exactly why we recruited expert marketer and brand developer PJ Goupil (he works with some of the city's biggest hotspots, including Mayfair, Flyjin, Fitzroy, Apt. 200 and Jatoba) to give us the inside scoop on where we should be all week(end) long. Here we go:

Best time of the year - enjoy it fam #montreal: @yukon_jak

1) Thursday, June 9th – High Tea Thursday @ Mayfair with DJ Truspin
This is Montreal’s best kept secret. A high-end cocktail bar with a sophisticated Victorian décor that turns up hard until 3am with the city’s best-looking locals. The door can be tricky – a reservation is a must. Get there early and enjoy live oyster shucking and champagne during the 5pm à 9pm. It's my best recommendation to experience the best of what Montreal has to offer.

2) Friday, June 10th – Boi-1da @ Apt.200
Montreal’s most famed apartment bar, which hosts house parties 7 days a week, is having a party thrown by Boi-1da, the producer behind most of Drake’s albums, as well as Rihanna’s “Work”. It has a more laid back vibe and you’ll actually let your hair down and find yourself bouncing with Montreal’s cool kids while enjoying Apt.200's unique homey/eclectic design.

3. Friday, June 10th – Pole Position @ Flyjin with DJ Thomas H
Old Montreal’s best underground supper club offers an impeccable Antonio Park menu and will cradle you inch by inch out of your comfort zone until you let all inhibitions go and party to Montreal’s top local DJ, Thomas H. If you want to see what Montreal nightlife has to offer, you must experience Flyjin at least once.

Long week, gorgeous day. Don't burn out, Fly away. (new cocktail list is boom boom) #montreal

4) Sunday, June 12th – Sundazed @ Peel Street Belvedere Garden Terrace
Come Sunday, it's all about the day parties. This one in particular features a lineup of DJs from Montreal’s top spots who will form together to create an incredible day party going from 11am to 11pm. More of a high-end vibe, expect loads of Belvedere and Moet Champagne flowing. Don’t forget your shades!

5) Monday, June 13th – Fool’s Gold Homecoming @ Mural Festival Centre Stage
This is the main event of the Mural Festival, which is Montreal’s very own public art festival going on during Grand Prix. It is an exterior bloc party happening on St-Laurent, featuring none other than industry heavyweight and Montreal native A-Trak alongside other notable artists such as Roy Wood$, Kardinall Offshall, Theophilus London and many more.

You know it's getting real when the pamphlets are delivered! Soon to be distributed ! June 9-19 2016 @montreal

BONUS! If you absolutely want to live the high life that Grand Prix has to offer and isn’t typical of the Montreal scene, you may want to look into with these two events:

A) Friday, June 10th - Pfaff Mclaren x Ritz Carlton Grand Prix Party @ Ritz Carlton Montreal
Moët & Chandon open bar featuring champagne at the start of the night and premium open bar until 2am, plus a special unraveling of three new Mclaren car models. The who’s who will be there. Smile, you’re on camera 😉

B) Sunday, June 12th – ABGE F1 Closing Party @ Auberge St-Gabriel
This is known as the annual Guy Laliberté (Cirque du Soleil founder) party featuring top celebrities and in the case of this year, the Victoria Secret Angels will be attending.

We can't wait!
