Katy Perry has Twitter’s most popular account, which (not surprisingly) makes her a prime target for haters… and hackers. With an impressive 89 million followers, Perry’s Twitter feed has serious reach and huge potential when it comes to marketing. A fact that hacker @sw4ylol didn’t take advantage of at all.

Earlier today, the pop star’s account was taken over said hacker who used his 15 seconds of fame to send out racist and homophobic tweets to Perry’s devoted fans, as well as a surprising (and seriously random) love note to Taylor Swift, rather than making the most of his successful security breach.

The fake tweets were quickly removed and the hacker was kicked out of his power, but not before Perry’s following managed to grab screenshots of the bizarre rant. The songstress has yet to comment on the fiasco.

The hacker also managed to break into Perry’s SoundCloud account to post a previously unreleased track, which was also soon removed.

Titled ‘Witness 1.3’, we’re not sure where the song came from and, we have to be honest, we’re kind of bummed not to have had the chance to hear it. It’s been way too damn long since we’ve gotten fresh music from Perry and we just missed our chance!

Psssttt ! Envoie-ça à ton ami!
