When several swimmers, including 15-year-old Oscar, were caught in a strong riptide, the 47-year-old actor showed off his bravery and big heart. Jumping into the water, he not only alerted folks to start swimming back to shore, but he also grabbed the arm of a man to pull him to safety before going back to help his son.
Turns out the X-Men star doesn't just play a hero on the big screen!

The North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club also took a moment to thank Jackman for his help, writing on Instagram that "the beach had to be closed due to dangerous conditions, multiple rescues happening all at once and limited resources" and that "@thehughjackman was also spotted assisting with rescues! Thanks Hugh." HIGH FIVE, HUGH!
WELL DONE to Patrol 13 captained by Rosie Taliano & Tom Bunting this afternoon who completed 43 rescues in total with only a limited 12 patrolling members rostered on. There were also 3 rescues in the morning completed by Patrol 10. A big thank you to Waverley Duty Officers, @brontesurfclub @bondisblsc, @bondilifeguards and @surfrescue30 for your extra assistance. The beach had to be closed due to dangerous conditions, multiple rescues happening all at once and limited resources. @thehughjackman was also spotted assisting with rescues!
