Lauren Conrad has vowed to ban the words “skinny,” “slim” and “thin” from her blog/lifestyle website/goop lookalike, instead promising to replace them with more empowering alternatives, like “fit”, “toned” and “healthy”. High five, Lauren!

While announcing the theme for June - which is Shape Up - in a personal note on the site, Conrad took the opportunity to address the use of "body-shaming" words on

“When we’ve talked about getting in shape in the past, words like “skinny,” “slim,” and “thin” have often come up. Starting this month, we’ll be banning any body shaming terms from the site, and replacing them with words like “fit” “toned,” and “healthy”,” she wrote in the newsletter.

“We try do to this for the most part anyway, but now we’re making it official! The word skinny will now be reserved for skinny jeans… Every body is created differently—and healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes.”

Amen to that!
