Gentlemen, get ready to hate Dean Smith. Ladies, get ready to cry.

The Scottsdale, Arizona native spent 365 days planning the perfect way to ask girlfriend Jennifer Kessel to marry him and all of his hard work and dedication culminated in a proposal for the ages.

So what exactly did Smith do that was so epic? Starting on January 8 of last year, he began videotaping a short clip of himself holding a white board with THE question written on it, as well as various words of love, in a different location/pose every. single. day.

The point was to show Kessel that she was in his thoughts all day, every day, no matter what he' doing, whether that be washing dishes on hangin' with their cat. Making sure she never found out or suspected a thing could not have been easy and for that reason alone he deserves major praise.

Once the 365 days were up, Smith compiled the clips into one tear-worthy video set to  Bruno Mars’ “Marry You” and Pharrell’s “Happy”, stored it on his tablet, went on vacation with his lady and her family to Aruba and, on her birthday, her "sister knocked on her door with another whiteboard that took her through the hotel, running into various family members along the way, each of whom held a different sign on her way to the beach. Eventually, she was instructed to sit on a beach chair and watch," reports Yahoo
"Jennifer, I love you more than anything in the world,” Smith says in the video. “I know that you’re the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, but I want the timing to be perfect and make this moment special. For the next year, I’ll show you how much I love you and that you’re in my thoughts every day. I want to marry you.”

After she finished watching the 15-minute compilation, Kessel was told to turn around and that's when she found Smith standing behind her "with rose petals on the sand leading her to him." He then got down on one knee and finally popped the question in person. Obviously, she said yes.

Psssttt ! Envoie-ça à ton ami!
