Johnson appeared on Saturday Night Live over the weekened and spoofed a Toyota commercial in which a proud father drops off his daughter at the airport to join the Army by turning it into a sketch about ISIS. Who thought this was a good idea? WHO?
Here is the original ad:
Meanwhile, in the SNL version, Johnson is dropped off to join the Islamic State militant group known as ISIS and when her daddy-o, played by Taran Killam, tells her, “You be careful, OK?”, she replies, “Dad, it’s just ISIS". A voiceover then announces, “ISIS: We’ll take it from here, Dad.” *slow clap*
We still can't believe this happened, and neither can a lot of the Twitterverse:
"It's only ISIS" Not funny SNL, not funny at all especially to military moms whose kids are in the fight #SNL#militarymoms

Definitely never watching @nbcsnl again. I'm glad that these threats (like at MOA, where I happen to work) can be turned into a joke.

Others, however, thought it was funny - hmmm:
If you were outraged by the SNL ISIS sketch, I urge you to stick your head in an oven.

The ISIS ad was the edgiest thing in a long, long time on SNL. And it was actually funny. If it pisses people off, good.
