Top 5 things to do in Toronto this week [June 16 - 22nd] !

Most of the events happening this week revolve around the amazingness that is known as NXNE. While the film portion kicked off last weekend, the real heart of the festival happens now! Interactive and Music is where it all began, and there will be no shortage of fun to be had this week.

FILM: NXNE Film's Laugh Sabbath FIlm Festival

Closing off NXNE's film series this year will be the Laugh Sabbath Film Festival, screening Sunday afternoon at the Bloor. Hilarious comedic shorts from some of Canada and the US's strongest talent will be on display, and the top 3 films judged by an industry panel will win big!

COMEDY: Lip Service Comedy Show

This fundraising gala is helping build awareness for the far too often ignored growing problem of Alzheimers. It is truly a great cause to support, and a comedy show is an excellent way to help diffuse everyone's fear of talking about this subject. Proceeds go directly to The Alzheimer's Society of Toronto.

PARTY: Bruise Cruise

In celebration of NXNE, sister festival M for Montreal has got in the habit of throwing an epic cruise filled with live bands, sunny skies, and good drinks. I never miss this cruise, even though I'm usually incredibly hungover from the Friday night before. It's that much fun. And this year Mac Demarco is hosting, so it's going to be legendary.

Where: Queen's Quay Terminal, Pier 6

When: Saturday June 21st, 12pm

FOOD: The Stop Night Market

This yummy event is well worth the price for all you can eat deliciousness from the best restaurants and beverage companies Toronto has to offer. Come hungry, eat and drink your heart out, leave with a nice buzz and belly stuffed with incredible food. Best of all, the money raised goes to help The Stop's anti-hunger and anti-poverty programs.
