I hope you're all well rested after that long weekend!
Since May continues to give us April showers, you might want to wear your Hunter wellies before heading out to some of the events I'm most excited for this week:
FASHION: International Fashion Festival Toronto
Another fashion event for those of you who want to know what the next big trend on the runway is. Events like this put a spotlight on Toronto's budding fashion scene and it's important to support them, and the local designers presenting, in order to finally put Toronto on the map as a true fashion forward city.
Where: Delta Meadowvale Hotel
When: May 22- 25th
MUSIC: Timber Timbre
You should go to this show on Friday not just because it's the incredible Timber Timbre, and not just because my favourite Toronto voice Cold Specks is opening, but because it's at the beautiful Massey Hall - and tickets are only $18.94! Prepare to have shivers from both performances.
Where: Massey Hall
When: May 23rd, 8pm
FILM: Toronto LGBT Film Festival
Presented by Inside Out, the Toronto LGBT Film Festival gives another opportunity to explore the vast, progressive and exciting things happening on film in the LGBT world. Tons of events and parties are happening throughout the week as well, so there's something for everyone!
Where: TIFF Bell Lightbox
When: May 22nd - June 1st
EXPLORE: Doors Open
Doors Open is always a fun way to spend a warm weekend. My first experience with it was kind of mindblowing because it's an exciting thing to peek inside buildings you would never otherwise be allowed to see. If you are at all interested in architechture or Toronto's history, make it a point to spend some time this weekend exploring this awesome city.
Where: All around the city!
When: May 24 - 25th
Being the owner of a pomeranian who happens to be the love of my life, Woofstock is always one of my favourite events of the year. Even if you don't have a dog, use this opportunity to see the largest gathering of the cutest, happiest dogs in the city. It'll almost make up for your choice to settle for one of those many, awful Toronto apartments that don't allow pets.
Where: Woodbine Park
When: May 24 - 25th
