Ryan Higa is the funny man behind YouTube channel Nigahiga, which he created back in 2006 with help from his buddies Sean Fujiyoshi, Tim Enos and Tarynn Nago.

Combining his last name with the Japanese word "niga", which means "rant", Ryan arrived at a catchy title and soon started uploading videos, all comedic (of course). The channel's first big successes came courtesy of videos of him and Fujiyoshi lip-synching to songs.

By 2010, Nigahiga had 3 million subscribers and was the first channel to accomplish such a feat. This month, that number reached 10 million.

How To Be Gangster and How To Be Emo were some of Ryan’s most popular videos but were removed years back due to copyright violations.

Since moving to Las Vegas to study filmmaking, Higa has changed his video style to mostly solo sketches but, from time to time, he does feature other YouTube users. His old partners in crime also make appearance whenever Ryan visits them in Hawaii.
