Seeing these images for the first time, it's hard not to think 'This can't be real!'. Then it sinks in - this is what everyday life is like for hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong's poorest people.

Taken by Hong Kong-based Society for Community Organisation (SoCO), these bird's eye view photos were shot in the districts of Sham Shui Po, Yau Tsim Mong and Kowloon City and showcase the most unbelievable living conditions.

Hong Kong may be one of the richest cities in the world, but with rent prices skyrocketing and waiting lists for public housing growing even faster, countless individuals and families are forced to live in spaces so small, they're hard to fathom.

Image being forced to carry out your entire life in a room that's no bigger than 4 x 7 feet. We're talking having your bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room cramped into something you'd expect to be a work cubicle, nothing more.

All we can say is these pictures will certainly move you. And leave you speachless.

Psssttt ! Envoie-ça à ton ami!
