True Blood fans, brace yourselves and grab some tissues as some seriously sad news have just been released from the HBO camp.
Yesterday, HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo made the official announcement that True Blood will soon be coming to an end. He said: "Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show."
After six ridiculously popular seasons, the sexy vampire drama will be wrapping up its blood sucking ways with one last season, which is slated to air on HBO in the summer of 2014. The 10-episode season will be the show’s seventh and will hopefully do justice to each of the characters’ storylines or we’re sure there will be a lot (and we do mean a LOT) of angry fans out there. We’re sure everything will be stellar, though.
After all, not only did the show give the world Alexander Skarsgard, but it was also recognized by some legit heavyweights when it was nominated for an Emmy in 2010 for Best Drama Series and when it saw Anna Paquin win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in 2009.
