Hugh Michael Jackman really needs no introduction. The Australian actor who has had smash hit roles in movies, musicals and on TV is the stuff most women’s dreams are made of. Often gearing towards superhero and romance characters, Jackman has starred in such mega hits as the X-Men film series, Kate & Leopold, Van Helsing, Australia and Les Misérables. He’s also been a successful Tony Awards host and Academy Awards host. Shortly put, this man does it all.
Louis C.K. – actually Louis Szekely if you take a look at his birth certificate – is not only a successful stand-up comedian, but also a renowned television and film writer and actor. Louis’ first attempt at stand-up came back in 1984 at an open mic night in Boston after which he went on to find fame as a writer on shows like Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Chris Rock Show. Today, he is perhaps best recognized as the multi-talented genius behind FX comedy series Louie of which he is the creator, star, writer and director. Point: Jackman
Jackman’s role in in Les Misérables earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and his first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy earlier this year. He has also won a Tony Award for his role in The Boy from Oz and an Emmy Award for great hosting duties at the Tony Awards.
Louis’ work for The Chris Rock Show scored him three Emmy Award noms and landed him a statue for Best Writing in a Variety or Comedy Series in 1999. He was also nominated for an Emmy Award for his writing for Late Night with Conan O'Brien and that’s not all, folks! Louis won a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album, Hilarious, in 2011. Point: Louis
Jackman married longtime girlfriend Deborra-Lee Furness in 1996 after the two met on the set of Australian TV show Correlli. They have been together ever since and have adopted two children, Oscar Maximillian and Ava Eliot. In 2008, People magazine named Jackman the Sexiest Man Alive.
Louis married in 1995, but divorced in 2008 after having two daughters with Alix Bailey. Unlike most other celebs, he has managed to keep his personal life private and you don’t see news of him or his family splashed across the tabloids. High five, Louis! Point: Jackman
Verdict: Jackman (even though he should have lost points because of Les Mis.)
