Season four of The Walking Dead premieres this fall, which gives you plenty of time to catch up on the episodes you’ve missed or re-watch your favourite macabre moments. It’s a tension-filled, nerve racking series, so we’ve developed a fun game to help get you through it. To play, you’re going to need a strong stomach (which you probably already have if you watch this show). Hide the machetes, drink in every gory scene and get ready for The Walking Dead to turn you into the walking drunk.
Grab a bottle of your favourite type of alcohol and pick the character(s) you want to drink for, which will determine your drinkable moments. In addition to the rules outlined below, take a drink whenever your character kills a walker, kills another human, meets a new group of survivors, or loses a body part.
(Caution: you might want to avoid watching more than 3 episodes in a row while playing this game, unless you want to be as brain-dead as the zombies on this show.)
A police officer before the world went to hell, Rick still believes in maintaining order and protecting others. His morality and sense of responsibility make him a natural leader. If only he weren’t also totally cray cray.
Take a sip: Whenever he gives a pep talk to the remaining survivors.
Take a shot: Whenever he acts like a “Ricktator” and makes a decision without consulting the group.
Finish your drink: Whenever he has hallucinations about dead people.
Rick’s wife seems to divide fans into two groups: those who want her to die immediately, and those who want her to die a slow, painful death. But whether it’s a quick shot to the head or a gruesomely drawn out dismemberment by zombie, everyone seems onboard with the “wanting her to die” bit.
Take a sip: Whenever she can’t find her son, Carl.
Take a shot: Whenever she sneaks off on her own and puts herself in danger.
Finish your drink: Whenever she can’t decide between Rick or Shane.
This badass character was created for the TV show and never appeared in the original comics, but he quickly became a fan favourite. If you don’t love Daryl, check your pulse ‘cause you may be a walker.
Take a sip: Whenever he uses his crossbow.
Take a shot: Whenever he tracks someone through the woods.
Finish your drink: Whenever he defends his brother, Merle.
He was just a lowly pizza delivery guy before the zombie apocalypse hit, but he quickly morphed into a compassionate hero who saved Rick from certain death and now holds the group together.
Take a sip: Whenever he fights with Maggie.
Take a shot: Whenever he acts surprisingly badass.
Finish your drink: Whenever someone suggests he should take over Rick’s place as the group’s leader.
Whether she’s putting the group in danger or falling for the wrong guy, Andrea’s the worst!
Take a sip: Whenever she has to convince someone to give her a gun.
Take a shot: Whenever she shoots her gun and misses.
Finish your drink: Whenever she believes another lie the Governor tells her.
She used to be a meek housewife trapped in an abusive marriage, but the zombie apocalypse killed her husband – as well as her self-esteem issues.
Take a sip: Whenever she mentions baby Judith.

Finish your drink: Whenever she shares a flirty moment with Daryl.
An aggressive, racist redneck, Merle doesn’t play well with others.
Take a sip: Whenever he says something racist.
Take a shot: Whenever he talks about being handcuffed to the roof and left for dead.
Finish your drink: Whenever he tries to bond with his brother.
The elderly veterinarian tries to protect his family by holing up on their farm when the undead began rising, but the arrival of Rick and the other survivors messes up his plans.

Take a shot: Whenever he treats someone medically.
Finish your drink: Whenever he quotes the Bible.
Hershel’s oldest daughter may have grown up on a farm, but she’s proven herself to be more than capable of handling any crap this post-apocalyptic world throws at her.
Take a sip: Whenever she goes on a supply run.
Take a shot: Whenever she sings with her sister.
Finish your drink: Whenever she and Glenn get it on.
The strong and silent type, this deadly badass would rather speak with her sword than her words.
Take a sip: Whenever she gives someone her trademark sideways stink-eye.
Take a shot: Whenever she swings her katana.
Finish your drink: Whenever she has more than two lines in a scene.
As if growing up in a post-apocalyptic world wasn’t enough to mess a kid up, he’s also being raised by a neglectful Lori and an unhinged Rick. This boy is screwed.
Take a sip: Whenever he runs off without telling anyone.
Take a shot: Whenever he shoots a gun.
Finish your drink: Whenever he flirts with Beth.
