Pop stars including Selena Gomez, Anjulie and Down With Webster will be pulling double-duty as MMVA nominees and awards-show presenters Sunday, handing out trophies to this year’s winners.

Presenters don’t get any say in who they bestow with a new -- and presumably prestigious -- hand-weight, of course.

No fairsies.

So, Dose.ca asked a bunch of MMVA nominees to give us their picks. Which videos from the last year do they think deserve a trophy?

Video of the Year contenders, including Hedley’s Dave Rosin, Marianas Trench’s Mike Ayley and directors Aaron A., Kyle Davison and Ben Knechtel, share their fantasy ballots.

Hollerado, “Good Day at the Races” (Hedley guitarist Dave Rosin’s pick)

“The Hollerado guys always seem to do interesting videos, and I tell you, when I saw them riding their ostriches for ‘Day at the Races,’ I laughed my ass off. There’s nothing like seeing four grown guys riding an ostrich. That’s YouTube-worthy right there.

M.I.A., “Bad Girls” (Director Kyle Davison’s pick)

“What’s a great video to me is not only when the director kills it, but when the song is awesome -- because it’s the two things, they’ve got to work together. M.I.A.’s ‘Bad Girls,’ I think that’s pretty killer. I’d give that a trophy. Hands down.

Lana Del Rey, “Blue Jeans” (Director Aaron A’s pick)

“That video was really beautifully shot. I'd like to do something of a similar calibre at some point. The cinematography, the symmetry -- I'm a big fan of directors and shooters that really take into consideration symmetry in their shots and composition, just because it's going the extra step. “

Lady Gaga, “Marry the Night” (Marianas Trench bassist Mike Ayley’s pick)

“I would like to give it a unique MMVA, for ‘The Most Unnecessarily Indulgent Video of the Year.’”

Marianas Trench, “Fallout” (Director Ben Knechtel’s pick)

“I know [they’re my MMVA competition], but Carly [Rae Jepsen], Marianas Trench: we're all friends. I'm just stoked to be nominated. But ‘Fallout’ by Marianas Trench is a beautiful video, and Kyle Davison is a very talented director, who I look up to greatly. I'm on set for all their videos, too, I do all their behind-the-scenes work, so it's exciting to see them perform with Carly at the MMVAs, they're both performing. It should be fun.”

The 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards air on MuchMusic Sunday, June 17 at 9 p.m. ET. For more MMVA coverage, check out Dose.ca/MMVAs.
